Why Coco Pebbles are the Perfect Snack When Cravings Run Sweet.
Traditional rice crispy treats can be kind of plain unless you add a lot of extra goodies. This recipe uses coco pebbles cereals chocolatey taste and a touch of salt without adding a ton of extra sweets.
Adding coco powder enhances the chocolate flavor of the coco pebbles. The cocoa powder makes a difference, not just by enhancing the chocolatey taste, but by making the white marshmallows look more like chocolate.
Chefs Notes: The LEVO butter and chocolatey taste of the coco pebbles with a touch of sea salt is the perfect snack when cravings run sweet.
What You Will Need to Make Coco Pebbles Marshmallow Treats
Kitchen Items:
Double boiler
Silicone spatula
Ingredients:
½ cup LEVO Butter
1 (16 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
2 tablespoons coco powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
8 cups coco pebbles
How to Make Coco Pebbles Marshmallow Treats
1. Melt butter in a double boiler, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes. Add marshmallows to the LEVO butter, and cook, stirring occasionally, until marshmallows are melted, about 5 minutes.
2. Stir coco powder and 1 teaspoon sea salt into marshmallow mixture and remove saucepan from double boiler. Pour the marshmallow mixture over the coco pebbles and mix until cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture; transfer to a 9×13-inch baking dish lined with parchment paper.
3. Place a sheet of parchment paper over coco pebbles mixture and lightly smooth or level the mixture. Remove parchment paper and sprinkle flaked sea salt over the top. Cool treats to room temperature, at least 30 minutes.
Fact: Do not pack or press the cereal mixture lightly smooth and level the mixture, pressing too firmly with cause the treats to be very hard.
Chefs Notes: This is a treat and it’s meant to be extra-buttery and delicious. The butter will coat everything together and make sure your Coco Pebbles treats are never dry and dull.
Chefs Tips:
Use plenty of butter
Use mini marshmallows
Resist packing the pan
Don’t forget the salt
Chefs Notes: Continue to cook the marshmallows a little longer, after they’ve melted. This gives your treats a beautiful caramelized flavor. Keep going until your marshmallows turn a little golden.
Thank you and Happy Infusing…….
