Why Olive Oil is the Perfect Choice for Classic Marinara Sauce

Chef’s notes: This marinara sauce consists of tomatoes, herbs, garlic, and onions. In some regions, people usually add sour ingredients like capers, olives, or wine. The typical Italian marinara sauce is quick thin while the one we make is thicker in consistency.
What You will Need to Make Classic Marinara Sauce with LEVO Olive Oil
Large stirring spoon
¼ cup LEVO extra virgin olive oil
1 onion, chopped
4 pounds fresh fire roasted tomatoes, chopped
1 tablespoon canna sugar
1 tablespoon fresh basil
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 cup Merlot wine
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
How to Make Pasta sauce
1. All the ingredients go in the saucepan together. Ensure they are mixed thoroughly.
2. Leave to simmer for approximately 2 hours. To keep the sauce from burning, stir regularly.
Chef’s Notes: For the traditional approach, serve over pasta. This sauce will be used in Egg Plant.
